The celestial beauty Aishwarya Rai is proud of India. Ash was born in south of India. The lucky day when Ash was born 1st November 1973 in Mangalore, Karnataka, India. Ash, daughter of Krishnaraj Rai and Brindya Rai having two other daughters younger then Ash and son elder then her.

Aishwarya Rai's father was a marine engineer and her mother was a teacher at Mangalore. When Ash was about 4 years old her family moved to Mumbai. Aishwarya Rai did her schooling at Arya Vidhya Mandir, Santacruz, Mumbai. She always wanted to become an Architected and for that she joined OG Ruparel Collage, Matunga , Mumbai. Through all her academic carrier, Ash was very much focused on her studies, excelling every matter and became Head girl of her school. Ash's native language is Tulu, with that she also knows English, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Urdu and Marathi. While studying architected, Ash moved gracefully to her modeling carrier.

After entering into the modeling world, Aishwarya Rai's entered Femina Miss India contest in 1994. She got the position of first runner up in this contest. So other than going for Miss Universe, She decided to go to Miss world peagent. She went to the sun city of South Africa, Place where Miss World peagent 1994 was going to be. People were so excited and sure that she is going to win because of her beauty, grace, intelligence, charm. and lots of things which can not be described in words. She was under a lot of pressure those days because of everybody's expectations and as she wanted to present herself as an ambassador for the world, with the impression as an Indian. And with all that our Indian darling caught the stage and became Miss World 1994. A sweet little girl of South of India is now the most beautiful women of the world. With all that victory she entered the world of acting from a model. She has done many advertising campaign like pepsi, Coca-Cola, L'oreal paris, Debeers Diamond etc. she went to all the houses and hearts of all the people with ads and had become a household name know by everybody. Ash entered Bollywood film industry all happening directors and producers are busy to book hear dates for their projects.

Aishwarya Rai's first film was "Iruvar" in Tamil received some critics but her "Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya" of Rahul Rawail's got her the title of best female Debutante Award. With that one more Tamil film she has done was "Jeans". But the her star's had started rising her up and with an award wining performance came Sanjay Leela Bhalsali's "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" then Ash's stars goes on favoring her with the films like 'Taal' and again a musical melodrama 'Devdas' by Sanjay Leela Bhalsali. Devdas was the first Hindi film to be screened at Cannes film festival, where incidentally she was the first Indian Actress on the jury of that festival. And her film career went on and on with "Aa ab laut Chalien" through which she cam under RK banner. In Aditya chopra's "Mohabbatein" she had a special appearance of Shahrukh kahn's late beloved and in Manshoor khan's "josh" they both were brother (Shahrukh khan) and her sister (Aishwarya Rai). She was just so outstanding in both the roles. And so on, Ash's film carrier goes on with number of other films like Albela, Bunty and Babli, Dhoom2.. She has several other international films in English language, which includes provoked, the last legion, Singularity, Chaos, Bride and prejudice etc. She has also acted in Tamil film "Kandukondia Kandakondian" and the Bengali film "Ravoyi Chandamama".
